Japanese Food Season is an initiative by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Government of Japan. Starting October 2013, MAFF will be organizing several events in Delhi and Mumbai to popularize Japanese food through retail stores, restaurants, and malls.

Washoku is a Japanese street food festival taking place during Cool Japan Festival 2014 at High Street Phoenix, Lower Parel. The festival will offer Japanese delicacies like Sushi, Yakitori, Noodles and much more, being served in the modern, fast food way. The famous 'kaiten-sushi' concept of serving Sushi on a conveyor belt will also be a part of this unique street food festival which celebrates six delightful years in the city.
